Neurocritical Care
It deals with life-threatening diseases that affect the nervous system that includes nerves, spinal cord, and brain
Cerebral Angiography
A diagnostic test using an X-ray to find blockages in the cerebrum or blood vessels of your head and neck
Brainstem disorders
Diseases of the brainstem can result in abnormalities in the function of cranial nerves that may lead to visual disturbances, pupil abnormalities, changes in sensation, muscle weakness, hearing problems, vertigo, swallowing and speech difficulty, voice change, and co-ordination problems.
Chronic headaches
Chronic daily headaches occur 15 days or more a month, for longer than three months. True (primary) chronic daily headaches aren't caused by another condition. There are short-lasting and long-lasting chronic daily headaches. Long-lasting headaches last more than four hours.
Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disorder that causes brain cells to waste away (degenerate) and die. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia — a continuous decline in thinking, behavioral and social skills that disrupts a person's ability to function independently.
Comprehensive Neuro Rehabilitation Services
Our specialists diagnose, treat individuals with various neuromuscular disorders and have limitations in strength, balance and coordination, perceptual skills, etc.
Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)
It determines any damage or destruction to the nerve by analyzing speed of conduction of electric impulse through nerve
Brain tumors
A brain tumor is a collection, or mass, of abnormal cells in your brain. Your skull, which encloses your brain, is very rigid. Any growth inside such a restricted space can cause problems. Brain tumors can be cancerous (malignant) or noncancerous (benign).
Neuromuscular disorders
Neuromuscular disorders include a wide-range of diseases affecting the peripheral nervous system, which consists of all the motor and sensory nerves that connect the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body. Progressive muscle weakness is the predominant condition of these disorders.
Parkinson’s disease
Parkinson's disease is a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with walking, balance, and coordination. Parkinson's symptoms usually begin gradually and get worse over time. As the disease progresses, people may have difficulty walking and talking.
Facilities
Well equipped with the latest medical equipment, modern technology & infrastructure, Aster Hospital is one of the best hospitals in India.
Diagnostic for Neuro Surgery
Imaging tests:
- CT
- MRI
CT cisternography
Cerebral arteriogram
Neurosonography
Myelogram
Electromyography
Intracranial pressure monitoring
EEG
An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test used to find problems related to electrical activity of the brain.
An EEG tracks and records brain wave patterns. Small metal discs with thin wires (electrodes) are placed on the scalp, and then send signals to a computer to record the results. Normal electrical activity in the brain makes a recognizable pattern. Through an EEG, doctors can look for abnormal patterns that indicate seizures and other problems.
Advanced Operating Microscope
Advanced Operating Microscope with integrated angiogram and tumour fluorescence allows for advanced real-time angiographic and tumour imaging, enabling accurate tracing and removal of tumours even during the most complex and difficult surgical interventions.
Neuro ICU
The Neuro ICU at the department combines the service of ICU staff with advanced critical care training together with technological expertise. It facilitates round-the-clock close monitoring and personalised care for the patients.
Neuronavigation
Neuro-navigation systems facilitate image-guided neurosurgery ensuring accurate resection of brain tumour's or biopsies of brain lesions and detailed brain surgery. Basic principles of navigated surgery are to see the tip of a pointer in an image space.
